Frugal Accomplshments Last Week

Last week I baked a 2 tier cake and 80 cupcakes and cleared $70.  I found a set of Fancy Nancy books at a hospital book fair.  The set of 6 was just $12.99 and to buy separately would have been $23.94.  Almost a 50% savings- I supported patient services and got Christmas and birthday gifts for my Niece. Win win!!
I packed my lunch to work 4 days.

I planted Danvers carrots in a container on my porch
.
Hubby and I also picked up 2 metal shelving units that my MIL gave me.  These will be great to add to my stash storage.  My stash is growing by leaps and bounds YIPPEE!  I figure I have at least a 3 months supply of food on hand.  I do need to add to my water storage, though. I just have enough for about 2 days stored away. I figure that we can drain and filter the water in our 40 gallon water heater in an emergency. The new shelving units will be a great help for water storage!

I picked up 2 jars of apple juice at Meijer—on sale for $.99 each. I am planning on using it to make apple jelly this month. Miracle whip salad dressing was also on sale.  I got 10 jars for $1.99 each. Now we are stocked up—looking forward to lots of tuna salad, pasta salad, and potato salad this summer!

Well, I believe this was about the sum total of my frugality this past week. Hopefully I will be able to accomplish more next week!  What frugal accomplishments did you achieve?

Frugal Blessings,
Lisa

  1. How wonderful that you got to stock up and save money at the same time. I try to do the same. This summer too, I hope to learn to make cheese with our goat milk and can and freeze food from our garden.
